As staff begin to return to the office it’s time to revisit your organization’s culture. Your teams have been working remotely for two years or more. How do you rebuild camaraderie and teamwork after being so long apart, in particular in a way that acknowledges and shows empathy for the continuing Covid crisis and the devastating war in the Ukraine?
One way is to schedule offsite meetings. I have often used them in my work to motivate, reward and engage. The meetings don’t have to be elaborate affairs in Hawaii or Orlando. A nearby hotel or even a conference room can serve the same purpose. An offsite is an excellent opportunity to get people to think as a group and as a team, to work effectively, and to move forward.
